  ok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.

  honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.

  to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

  It is withering away. It’s a shadow of what it was. It was insignificant to most humans before, it isn’t worth a thought to them now. We only care because it brings complete validation to our escape and gives us hope our loved ones still trapped will be set free. But it will linger. The die hards will die hard and their offspring will offer a 30% chance of reinforcement. Probably less as decades roll on. Armeggedon is never coming and the future of Watchtower will resemble the future of every pseudo religion just like it. Take comfort in personal triumphs and ones close to you.

  My mom used to write a $1000 donation each month. She won’t anymore because I showed her how that money is used to protect pedophiles. No she won’t leave, but they only care about $, and they aren’t getting hers anymore. I bet you it’s a very common story.

  i'll do bad.. my grandmother is becoming more and more strict as i turn closer to 18, which is in 3 months.

  i ask for the most simplest thing and it's like "let me think about it" i don't wanna seem as a complainer to you guys but i just want to be normal.

  Open a bank account with a trusted adult as co signer(required as you are a minor) or wait three months to open an account that is solely yours. Then have your paycheck direct deposited to your account by your employer.

  When your tution assistance comes in this will be imperative for you to set up as you do not want anyone else having access to your money.

  It sounds as though your Gmother has already written you off as “leaving Jehovah” so what is the harm to you immediately if you choose for yourself to go the football game and hang out with friends? Go on a date? What is your Gmother holding over you? Are you afraid of being kicked out? That would be illegal if she is your guardian. Are you planning on moving out? You should plan for it as soon as possible.

  Not really clear on the dynamics of exactly what you are dealing with but one thing is certain, you won’t get back the last few months of your high school story to re do. So make it exactly like you want now and deal with the repercussions. You’ll thank yourself later.

  I appreciate what Joe is getting at about some of the pitfalls of freedom, but I push back that it is oh so similar to the fear tactics employed by JW cult members.

  Truth is, people are actually wonderful and not everyone will lead you to sex, drugs and rock n roll. But if they do and you like it? Who is to judge you for it?

  Get control of your life. It is time to grow up. Stay in control by making good decisions.

  i’m sorry that i talk about dating a lot, i know it is probably very annoying, but you don’t have to read it.

  but did anyone else have the most difficult time dating as a young jw?

  me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year in half, we are in our early 20’s, and we are still not allowed to hold hands, cuddle or kiss.

  No JWs in their early twenties follow all the stupid rules set by parents or elders or their busybody wives when they are in lust with eachother. Where there is a will there is a way. There are those who get caught, and there are those that don’t.

  You should fuck at a minimum 5 men before you even think of marriage. It is just that important. You can be blinded by affections only to find out your life is one giant sexual frustration when you marry the guy that you didn’t test out or you marry a guy with no other experiences to measure him with.

  Just do it. Go out of town on some false pretense (cover your ass) and be the adults you are. Then do it again as many times as you want.

  Then when it’s out of your system, you won’t feel forced to marry just to get laid.

  Or do it again with someone new.

  Don’t become some guys masturbatory tool on your wedding night.

  I like Alan Dershowitz. He brings a perspective to the table that fascillitates deeper understanding of how difficult the practice of law actually is. Any attorney will tell you they can argue both sides of any issue successfully. Alan loves to take the unpopular stance among his peers, but he is always well researched and uses impeccable reasoning. He also doesn’t shy away from the fact that his views, while completely sound in his mind, can be challenged using the exact same statutes he bases his opinions on.

  I watch Trump on TV and he sounds nonsensical, Orwellianesque and looks exhausted and anxious. He tries to put on the mafia boss bravado but it is feckless because he is fighting an unwavering machine in branches of government that begin with equal power but have overwhelming advantages born from legal minds and the endless bag of tools they use to control.

  Mueller is looking under every stone. He’s going to find a multitude of creepy crawly things to ruin Trump. Everybody that is offered immunity is a nail in the coffin. Trump knows it’s coming, it’s why he has only acted guilty the entire time.

  When the special counsel was set in place I wonder how many people thought that anything about Russia would be the least of Trump’s problem? The investigation had no boundaries. That’s what we are seeing. The rule of law is being exercised on anyone and everything Mueller finds. It’s not unprecedented either. It’s why we were burdened with stained blue dresses and oval fellatio.

  There won’t be any impeachment. Trump is going to walk away in complete and utter frustration when the Mueller probe continues on and on and on and one after another of the President’s men fall until he is the only one left for Mueller to toy with.

  Pence is going to bore us all to death.

  Trump needs to clean house on the entire administration and put in place the entire cast of Fox News... they understand alternative facts and that truth isn’t truth. Then he could turn off the damn television and have plenty of buddies to distract him at 1 or 2 in the morning so he stops anxiety Tweeting.

  Interesting that there are no comments after 4 hours on this thread.

  Yes it has been gleefully brought to my attention by active JWs. It’s in line with the “whataboutism” we suffer in USA politics.

  Point the finger somewhere else and maybe it will take the attention off your own screwups.

  My response is along the lines of pointing to the fact that the Catholic Curch as accepted blame, responsibility and liability and promised to do better.

  Has Watchtower done that? Will they ever?

  On a mathematical scale I’m certain Watchtower is just as egregious if not more so than the CC. They haven’t suffered punitively enough to bring them to their knees.

  Still the CC has work to do. Anyone who knew or covered up, deal with them as harshly as the abusers themselves.

  Watchtowr’s day of reckoning is coming. It may take 80 years like the retribution for the CC survivors. We may not see it in our lifetime. But it’s coming.

  And to put this in perspective, Facebook compromised the data of half a billion people. I don’t think anyone would be fantastically interested in the data of 8 million window washers who don’t spend or vote.
